Srinagar,Chairman JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik was arrested by police on Monday and shifted to central jailSrinagar, party said.
In a statement, JKLF spokesperson said police on Monday morning cordoned the residence of Yasin Malik andarrested him. He was immediately shifted to central jail Srinagar, he said.
The spokesperson said that a blanket ban on peaceful political activities of resistance leaders and arresting Yasin Malik, placing Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwiaz Umar Farooq under house arrest has become a common practice of authorities who have no courage to fight resistance camp politically.
Meanwhile prior to arrest and shifting to central jail Srinagar, JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement said New Delhi should realize that Kashmiris will continue with their resistance till the achievement of the sacred goal.
Harsh measures and torture is in fact making us more resilient and strong, Malik said, adding, Our unity and continuous struggle will surely defeat the designs of our enemies.
