SrinagarDineshwar Sinha, Delhis new point man on Kashmir, is planning to spend some time in the Kashmir periphery, next time when he is in Srinagar, sources said. He is planning his second visit later this month.
We expect that he would be moving out of Srinagar and going to areas which have, recently, shown more violence on streets and otherwise, sources privy to the plans said. Obviously South Kashmir will be his priority.
Sources said Sharma intends to spend time with the youth and reach out to them.
The interlocutors maiden visit to Srinagar was by and large quiet and silent as most of the political parties, on the other side of the ideological fence, stayed away. He met a number of delegations from the mainstream parties and various youth groups.
Though Sinha said he is keen to meet the Hurriyat, there was no serious effort to meet them. No invitation was extended to them. However, an officer had reportedly attempted seeking Sinhas appointment with Syed Ali Geelani but it did not materialize.
