Restrictions Today, Schools Closed

Srinagar—In the wake of a militant killed in the Zakoora shootout, authorities in Srinagar have decided to put in place restrictions within the jurisdiction of six police stations of Srinagar on Saturday.

District Magistrate Srinagar, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah confirmed to Kashmir Observer complete restrictions will be imposed in areas falling under the jurisdiction of Parimpora, Khanyar, Nowhatta, Safakadal, MR Gunj and Rainawari police stations.

“There will also be partial restrictions within the jurisdiction of Maisuma and Kralkhud police stations,” he said, in a statement.

The district magistrate also said that all schools and colleges in Srinagar will remain closed on November 18.

According to Police sources, the move comes in the wake of killing of a Ghazwatul Hind militant Mugees Ahmad Mir in a shootout in Zakura area of Srinagar. Mir was a resident of Parimpora area of the city.
