Hajj pilgrims to pay Rs 35995 for Srinagar-Delhi part of Hajj journey

Srinagar—Hajis for Hajj 2018 will have to pay Rs. 35995 for the Srinagar and Delhi leg of their journey.

The Hajj committee which has announced the airfare recently for the Hajis has fixed the fares from Delhi and Srinagar for the Kashmiri pilgrims. This makes Srinagar Delhi and back journey exactly that costly. The fare fixed by the committee for the intending Hajis of Jammu and Kashmir who will undertake the journey from Srinagar is Rs 109692. But those who would buy the tickets from Delhi will have to shellout Rs. 73697 for the journey to Jeddah and back.

The Hajis are flummoxed by the huge difference in the airfare and have appealed the chief minister to look into the matter and take it up with the concerned.

“Haj airfare per pilgrim from Sri Nagar is Rs 1,09,692 while from Delhi it is Rs 73,697. So the pilgrims from Jammu and Kashmir can opt for Delhi embarkation point, the Haj committee statement said.
