LAWDA and SMC demolishes illegal structures

Srinagar—The Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) demolished at least six structures at Baghwanpora, Lal Bazar, Nishat, Breine, Kashkash Bagh Badamwari and Teilbal area of Srinagar city which were being illegally constructed by violators.

The authorities have warned the residents living in the LAWDA jurisdiction not to indulge in illegal construction activities or dumping the construction material in the restricted areas without permission.

According to a spokesperson, the LAWDA will continue its demolition drive. “People residing within the LAWDA jurisdiction are hereby directed to stop raising structures illegally. The Tipper owners are also directed not to carry construction material in the prohibited area of Dal and Nigeen Lake without permission,” the spokesperson added.

Meanwhile, Srinagar Municipal Corporation also raised various illegal structures to ground at different places of the city including HMT Crossing, Sanat Nagar, Chanapora and Chattabal.
