‘Abducted’ Ganderbal Woman Recovered From Jammu

Ganderbal:  Police has recovered a woman allegedly abducted by a man hailing from Kupwara district from Jammu.

Acting on an information provided by the husband of the woman, the woman was recovered along with her abductor from Jammu,a police spokesman said.

He said the husband of the woman reported to the local police about his wife’s kidnapping on October 18. A team was set up by police and it recovered the woman from the possession of one Muhataq Ahmad Dar , a resident of Pringloo-Handwara.

The accused was arrested and the woman was handed over to her family after completion of all legal formalities, he said adding a case FIR number 229/2017 under section 366 stands registered in Police Station Ganderbal.
