From 7 years, Geelani confined to four walls of his house

Srinagar—Hurriyat Confer­ence (G) Wednesday expressed deep concern over the plight of Kashmiri pro-freedom prisoners, lodged in detention centres in and outside Kashmir and said that the political prisoners were for no reason implicated in fake cases.

In a statement the Hurriyat (G) while hailing the meritorious services and sacrifices rendered by prisoners, its spokesman said that they cre­ated laudable history and we sa­lute them for their steadfastness, persistence and commitment”

Since last seven years, the Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani is confined to four walls of his residence as police authorities have practically turned his residence into a sub-jail. His continued house deten­tion is taking a heavy toll on his health,” the spokesman said.

Ridiculing the coalition re­gime the spokesman said that APHC Dy General Secretary has been in the custody of Po­lice Station Shopian since last month and expressed concern for his falling health.

The spokesman said that few weeks back, court in its orders acquitted and bailed out Masarat Alam Bhat from all charges, however police ad­ministration detained him and slapped 35th PSA and shifted to Kot Balwal jail.

The Hurriyat in its appeal to international agencies and orga­nization for human rights, urged to take cognizance of unabated arrests, re-arresting detainees and asked to use its influence to check lawlessness and violations of court orders in state.
