SrinagarThanks to a hattrick from Shoab, Fort View FC thrashed Kashmir United Football Club 4-0 in their Pool B A-Division fixture of State Football League-2017 at Synthetic Turf TRC Srinagar, a statement from Jammu and Kashmir Football Association said. Real Kashmir pocketed victory in their Super Division fixture beating Young Iqbal Football Club by a solitary goal.
In the A-Division match, Fort View FC dominated the game for the whole of 90 minutes and gave no chances of comeback to Kashmir United FC at any point of time. Shoaib was the star for Fort View scoring a hattrick. His brilliance enthralled the football fans at the Synthetic Turf TRC. Riyaz scored the fourth goal for the winning team. Fort View team missed several scoring opportunities; otherwise the margin of the victory would have been much higher. With this victory Fort View FC qualified for semi-final .
The high voltage Super Division match between Young Iqbal FC and Real Kashmir FC Red, also played at Synthetic Turf TRC, enthralled the football fans, who had come in huge numbers. Both the teams played attacking football from the start of the match and kept defence lines of the opposite teams under pressure. However, both the teams missed several scoring opportunities and couldnt score in the first half which ended with score line 0-0.
The second half also witnessed intense clash between the two evenly matches teams as no team was ready to give an inch. With defence lines of both the teams giving no chances to each other, it seemed that the match was ending in a goal less draw till Faisal Baba of Real Kashmir FC Red managed to send one shot into the goal post in the last minutes of the game. The shocked Young Iqbal FC players had no time to react. When referee blew the final whistle, the score line read 1-0 in favour of Real Kashmir FC Red.
The B-Division league of the ongoing State Football League is already completed with IFC Nowgam winning the title and Noorbagh FC finishing as runners up. More than 50 percent match of the Super and Premier Division league have been completed till date. More than 500 football teams and clubs with over 12000 players and over 1500 team officials are participating in the mega event, the aim of which is to unearth the hidden talent across the State.
The event is being held across the 22 districts of the state these days and is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) under the auspices of State Sports Council and on the directions of All India Football Federation (AIFF).
