Muharram processions taken out in old city

Srinagar—Dozens of Alam Sharief processions were taken out in the old city of Srinagar and other major towns across Kashmir and Ladakh region on Wednesday.

Thousands of mourners joined these processions that were taken out in different parts of Kashmir Valley to pay rich tributes to the beloved grandson of the Prophet of Islam (Pbuh), Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S) and other martyrs of Karbala.

These processions were taken out in Gulshan Bagh, Bemina, Mir Behri, Kachi Kani, Baghwanpora, Mughal Mohalla, Zadibal, Shalimar, Malapora, Nowgam and other areas.

Ittehadul Muslimeen and Anjuman Sharie organised these processions during which leaders of the two parties addressed the mourners.

The speakers said that Imam Hussain (A.S) sacrificed his life for upholding truth and justice and against tyranny and oppression.
