DGP visits Shopian; addresses Police Darbar

Srinagar—Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. S.P Vaid, accompanied by IGP Kashmir  Munir Ahmad Khan  and DIG South Kashmir Swayam Prakash Pani Tuesday visited Shopian.


A dabar of officers/officials deployed in the district was conducted at DPO Compound. At the very outset the DGP provided opportunity to the officers/officials present in the darbar to put forth their grievances/problems .A number of officers/officials both District and IRP put forth their grievances before the DGP J&K.


In his address the DGP J&K appreciated the role performed by Police Shopian in dealing the tough law & order and militancy effectively and professionally.

"In south Kashmir Range especially district Shopian has remained mostly affected, however, Police and other security agencies while maintaining maximum restrains bring the situation back on track tactfully without any collateral damage," he said.

He congratulated the officers/Jawans for this commendable performance and hope that they will work with same zeal and zest in future also. After darbar a separate meeting was held with GO’s and other officers in DPO Shopian in which law & order and militancy related issues were discussed in threadbare. He also directed the officers to maintain maximum restrains while dealing any law & order situation.
