UJC Lauds Pak PM for UN Speech

Srinagar—Welcoming the Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s speech in the UN General Assembly on Kashmir, United Jehad Council (UJC) Chief Syed Sallahudin has said that the speech has “exposed the democratic face of Indian rulers”.

In an emailed statement to KNS, UJC spokesman Syed Sadaqat Hussain said that Sallahudin addressed a UJC meeting where he applauded Pakistan PM’s suggestion to UN to appoint an envoy for resolution of Kashmir dispute.

“The UN has, till now, failed to play its role in Kashmir due to which India is perpetrating immense atrocities in Kashmir and violating human rights,” Sallahudin said.

Addressing the 72nd session of the UN general assembly, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Abbasi said the legitimate struggle for self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir continues to be “brutally suppressed” by India’s forces and pitched for an international investigation into what he called “India’s war crimes” in Kashmir.

As per the statement, UJC chief said that international bodies should play their role else the people of Jammu and Kashmir will lose their confidence on these bodies.

“Pakistan should also play its proactive role to make the internal bodies more active to expose the undemocratic role and human rights violations of India,” he said.

He expressed displeasure with the approach of the world bodies and “coward approach” of Muslim nations on the plight of Rohingya refugees.
