DDC Shopian directs to keep vigil in Apple orchards

Shopian—A deputation from Wathoo village in Shopian district called on DDC Shopian Mohammad Aijaz Asad today and sought his intervention to stop theft of Apples from their orchards.

It is pertinent to mention that on Wednesday three thieves were caught stealing Apples and other items.

Some Unidentified persons barged into an Orchard and were found stealing some Apple boxes.

However, some locals of the village caught them and nabbed all the three along with a load Carrier. A Deputation from the area added that all persons were handed over to Police.

DDC assured them that the thieves will be punished and stern action will be initiated against them.

DDC directed Tehsildars and Station House Officers (SHOs) to keep vigil around the Apple orchard and night patrolling during the fruit season.
