Banihal Incident a Militant Attack: Police

Srinagar—Police on Thursday said that last evening two SSB personnel were injured when militants fired upon them in Banihal area of district Ramban. One of them later on succumbed while another is under treatment.

The militants also snatched two weapons one INSAS and one AR 41, police said.

“During the preliminary investigation it has come to fore that the terrorists have used a pistol as cartridges cases of fired ammunition have been found,” police said.

Police have also recovered two mobile phones in a bag near the site of incident.

“During investigation it has come out that three youth of a madarassa are also missing,” police said.

Police have lodged an FIR and further investigation is on.
