IUST Holds Workshop on Current IT Industry Trends

Awantipora—Two Day Workshop on “Current IT Industry Trends of Latest Technologies in Data Networks & Network virtualization” concluded here today at Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST).

The Workshop was organized by Industry Institute Interface Cell (IIIC) under the ambit of TEQIP-III.

The aim of the Workshop was to increase the networking skills of students. Mr. Abrar Hussain, Sr. Technical Designer at British Telecom was the expert for the workshop. While inaugurating the Workshop, Vice Chancellor IUST, Prof. Mushtaq A. Siddiqi gave brief introduction about TEQIP(Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme) launched by Ministry of Human Resource Development, GoI for upgrading of technical facilities in educational institutions. He enlightened the students about the relevance of networking and computer technology in current scenario. He also shared his own experience in the field of evolution of computer systems and networking. The workshop was coordinated by Ms. Shazia Manzoor (Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, IUST). The valedictory function was attended by chairperson Industrial Institute Interface Cell (IIIC), Dr. Parvaiz A Mir (Assistant Professor, School of Business Studies, IUST), wherein he gave assurance that many more programs/workshops will be held in IUST to increase the employability of students. The Workshop was attended by faculty and students from various departments of the varsity.
