Protests in City Held Against Myanmar Terror

Srinagar—Ittehadul Muslimeen observed Friday as ‘Solidarity Day’ with oppressed Rohingya Muslims. 

After Friday prayers peaceful demonstration was held at Masjid Jamia Sajjadia, Chattabal to register protest against Burma (Myanmar) government for unleashing a reign of terror on hapless Rohingya Muslims. 

The protest rally which started from Jamia Sajjadia was led by Ittihadul Muslimeen president Maulana Masroor Ansari. As the rally marched towards Batamallo it was stopped by police forces at Bemina crossing. 

The protesters sat on dharna on the road where some resolutions were passed about Myanmar. Those who participated in rally included JKIM Vice President, General Secretary and Mushtaq Sofi & Farooq Sodagar and others from Awami Action Committee.
