Amir’s lone goal gives F&S XI tight win


Srinagar—A solitary goal from Amir Ahmad proved to be the difference between the twao sides as Food and Supplies XI defeated Iqbal Sports Club in Premier Division League Football Tournament ficture played at TRC Ground Srinagar on Monday.

A high voltage encounter witnessed pacey moves from both the teams but goals dried up on either goalpost. It was Food and Supplies XI though that drew the first and only blood of the game when Amir found the in the 16th minute.

With a goal in arrears, Iqbal Sports tried to up the ante in search of an equalizer but to no avail. Teams went into the half time break with F&S XI ahead. The second half didn’t yield much drama as both teams failed to get on to a scoring sheet which Food & Supplies walked away with all the points from the game thanks to 1-0 scoreline in their favour.

Amir was declared man of the match.

In Super Division game Young Iqbal Footbaal Club thumped State Football Academy 4-0. Meanwhile Jahangir Football Club managed a 1-1 draw against FC in the Division A League fixture.

The tournament is being organised by Jammu and Kashmir Football Association.
