Police ASI Shot Dead in Anantnag

Anantnag—A police officer was shot dead by suspected militants on Monday in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

A police official said that Assistant Sub-Inspector Abdul Rasheed Peer was performing his duty when suspected militants fired upon him near Mehandi Kadal Anantnag.

He was rushed to District Hospital Srinagar where from he was referred to SKIMS Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries.

His wreath laying ceremony was held at District Police Lines Srinagar.
