Free Coaching For Civil Services Kick Starts In Shopian


Shopian-  On initiative of District Development Commissioner Shopian to provide free coaching and guidance to the students of district Shopian who are going to appear in civil services examination 2018, a one day workshop on , How to Crack Civil Services Examination, was organised by District Administration Shopian at Auditorium Hall Government Degree College Boys Shopian.


Earlier DDC Shopian Mohammad Aijaz had announced that the youth of Shopian district who are aspiring to crack civil services examination shall be provided free coaching and guidance.


The District Panchayat Officer Shopian, Syed Naseer Ahmad who has been nominated as nodal officer kick-started the free coaching classes. He outlined the broader contours of general studies and methodology for preparation of civil services. He also advised the students that the level of examination demands perseverance, determination, smart work, and diligence. Later, the empanelled officers delivered classes on different components of general studies.


The Guidance committee for Civil Services had called for the registration of desirous candidates for free coaching and has witnessed an over-whelming response from the aspirants across the district.


Speaking on the ocassion District Information Officer Shopian, Dr Mohammad Zubair Lattoo said that that the main reason behind this initiative is to give exposure to the candidates in the field of civil services as there are no good coaching facilities in the district and candidates have to crave for the guidance. He also said that the candidates will be given coaching Classes for General studies which is an important subject for Civil Services. Various components such as Indian History, Indian Economy, Indian Polity and Indian & World Geography will be covered during the course. The course will also include comprehensive test series to evaluate the candidate’s ability to understand the fundamental concepts of the subject.


When contacted District Development Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz, said that over the past few years’ lot of enthusiasm has been seen among the aspirants regarding the civil services and this is a small step in this direction to lend them a helping hand in making their dreams to come true. He also said that students are unaware about the pattern and structure of this examination. They move in a direction less manner and the end result is very unfortunate. The need of the hour is to understand the basic threads of this examination and then only one can qualify this examination which was the basic motive this initiative.


The inaugural function was attended by Principal GDC Shopian, Faculty Members,and a galaxy of gathering of civil services aspirants.
