Soldiers Enter Pahalgam School, Thrash Students, Teachers

Srinagar: A graffiti on a school wall in Pahalgam infuriated soldiers who reportedly barged into the classrooms and thrashed students and teachers, reports said.

Teachers of a school in Yanner village of Pahalgam, in south Kashmir Monday alleged that Army personnel barged into the school and thrashed teachers and students.

A teacher, wishing anonymity for fear of reprisal, alleged that the army men barged into the school after which they harassed and manhandled the staff and students there.

There were some graffiti and slogans on the school walls painted by the protestors which apparently infuriated the forces personnel who were passing through the area .

Police said that complaint has been received from teachers. “We have taken the cognizance of the complaint and we will act accordingly,” a police official said.
