JRL Calls for Shutdown on Aug 12

Srinagar: ‘Joint Resistance Leadership’ has called for a Kashmir wide shutter down on August 12 against attempts by New delhi to tamper with Article 35-A of Indian constitution and atrocities committed against people of south Kashmir.

A spokesman for the JRL, which comprises of three leaders Syed ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik said that, the JRL appeals people to take to streets against the attempts to abrogate the State Subject Law which they said has been in vogue here for centuries.

They appealed people to observe a complete shutdown on Saturday, August 12 to register their protest.

“Ongoing killing spree, genocide of young Kashmiris, hooliganism of forces in entire Kashmir, especially south Kashmir, NIA/ED terrorism to divert attention of Indian public and international community from these atrocities and ploy to change hundreds of years old state subject law in Jammu Kashmir will face stern resistance from Kashmiris,” said JRL.

“People of Kashmir will observe a complete shut down on Saturday 12th August 2017 against these condemnable Indian plots,’ said the leadership.
