Srinagar: Terminated Wireless Operators from Jammu Kashmir Police Department Tuesday staged protest urging upon to authorities to implement court directions without any delay.
Abrupt termination of over 200 Wireless Operators from Jammu Kashmir Police Department who were selected at district level in J&K Police Telecommunications in 2009 have been sparking frequent protests in Jammu and Kashmir.
In compliance with the court directions, Jammu Kashmir Police Department terminated the services of 231 Wireless Operators among them 90 belongs to Kashmir while 141 are from Jammu region.
The terminated Wireless Operators who assembled in Press Enclave Srinagar staged a protest. They said it took Police Department no time to comply with court orders and terminated their services while now the same department is using dilly dally tactics in implementing the latest court order that directs Department to restore the services of terminated Wireless Operators.
We had been in service from past 7 years, drawing salary and even our service books had been officiated. The decision of the Department has already shocked us. We appeal to the Department to implement the court directions, the protesters told news agency CNS.
Our only fault is that some disqualified candidates approached court and sought stay order on the selection list, they said.
They appealed Government to revoke the termination order and save their future.
