Srinagar: Administration has ordered the suspension of class work in all Universities, Degree Colleges and schools across Kashmir Valley on Friday in the wake of strike call given by the Joint Resistance Leadership.
While authorities announced the closure of all educational institutions across South Kashmir for the day earlier, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Thursday said there will be no teaching activity in the Degree Colleges and schools in Srinagar district on Friday.
Teaching activity will remain suspended in Colleges and schools of Srinagar district tomorrow (Thursday), DC Farooq Ahmad Lone said.
Earlier authorities at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) announced the closure of the university for two days beginning Friday following anti-government protests there against the civilian killings by the state forces. Meanwhile, authorities at the University of Kashmir on Thursday announced the postponement of all examinations scheduled for Friday, June 9.
A spokesperson of the varsity said that the decision in this regard was taken after a meeting.
Pertinently, the joint resistance leadership has called for a complete shutdown on Friday against the killing of a young Shopian student Aadil Farooq in firing by forces on Tuesday.
