SRINAGAR: The Department of Tourism Studies defeated the Department of Law in the finals to win Inter-Departmental Cricket tournament played at University of Kashmir ground on Friday.
According to the statement issued here, the tournament was organised by the Central University of Kashmir (CUK).
Batting first, the Tourism department posted a decent 196 on the board thanks largely to Mohammad Yasins solid 45. Yasin then shone with the ball in his hand taking four wickets as Department of Law were skittled out for a 169, handing over a 27-run victory to tourism department.
Muhammad Yasin was given man of the match for his all-round brilliance.
CUK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir and Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir, Prof. Khursheed Iqbal Andrabi gave away the trophy to the winners.
University of Kashmir, Registrar, Prof. Khursheed Ahmad Bhat, Physical Director Prof. Nissar Ahmad, Dean Students Welfare, CUK, Dr. Fayaz A Nikka were also present on the occasion.
The match was played under the supervision of Sports Coordinator, Tasleem Arif.
