‘Yearning Heart’ released in Oman


Srinagar: ‘Yearning Heart’, a book of poetry penned by a Kashmiri physiotherapist was released in Oman on Thursday.


Published by Notion Press, Chennai, ‘Yearning Heart’ is the collection of poems by Dr Syed Mohammad Waris, written over a period of time.


The poems, according to author, are expression of his innate feelings he encountered while trying to grapple with the philosophical conundrums of life.


Dr Waris is Associate Director Academics at London Academy of Sports and Health Sciences, UK and has a keen interest in Islamic Mysticism.


His upbringing in a Sufi influenced environment has deeply moulded his outlook of life and the poems in his book reflect a deep yearning for the ultimate truth.



From the onset the tone of the poems look divinely, the reader gets the feel that he is transported in to another realm where mind transcends over matter, ushering in a field which is beyond description. Where the reality is beautifully hidden behind the metaphors!
