Non gazetted employees protest for their demands

Srinagar: The Non Gazetted Officers Association of Forest Department Wednesday protested against the authorities for failing to fulfill their service demands.

The association led by its state president Sheikh Bashir Ahmad and provincial president Mir Nazir Ahmad gheraoed principle chief conservator office at Sheikh Bagh here and shouted slogans against the authorities.

The employees said that their demands including convening of departmental promotion committee of all cadres including class IV employees, drivers, cleaners, ministerial staff, pay anomaly, two days extra salary, risk allowance, implementation of SRO 106 and others are yet to be fulfilled by the department.

“The officers are enjoying their promotion and postings but the non gazetted employee are ignored and deprived of their legal service benefits”, they said, adding that the government should resolve their demands or face a prolonged agitation.

The employees have been protesting from May 20 under the banner of Non Gazzetted Forest Officers Association. (KNS)
