Biscoe School script title triumph in tie-break finish


SRINAGAR: Tyndale Biscoe School Wednesday emerged winners in the finals to win Harvard Inter-School 7-a-side Football Tournament played at Kashmir University ground.

The summit clash proved to be humdinger with both finalists Tyndale Biscoe School and Green Valley School on equal goals at the end of stipulated 90 minutes, prompting a tie-break finish. Tyndale Biscoe School kept their cool to strike big in the tie-break and take trophy home.

Earlier in the semi finals, Tyndale Biscoe School defeated Burn Hall School and Green Valley School defeated Kashmir Harvard School.

 The tournament was organized by Kashmir Harvard educational Institute in collaboration with Kashmir University. Around 20 schools of Srinagar district participated in the tournament.

 Renowned footballer Mehraj ud din Wadoo was chief guest on the prize distribution ceremony. He handed over winning and runners up trophies to the teams. 

Director IT KU Dr Maroof Qadri, Assistant Director Physical Education department KU Tauseef Ahmad, PRO KU Fahim, renowned football coach  Sajid Dar, Chairman Kashmir Harvard School  Tariq Baktoo and Principal Kashmir Harvard  Irfana Yousuf were guests of honour who awarded players with medals. Event Manager Kashmir Harvard School  Sheikh Mubashir was also present on the occasion.

 Speaking on the award ceremony chairman Harvard School encouraged students to participate in sports as involving youth in different sports is the only way to get them out of stress and other social evils spreading in the society.
