Srinagar: The SK Institute of Medical Science (SKIMS) Medical College Bemina Tuesday Conducted a workshop on advanced laparoscopic Surgery, which was organised by the Department of General Surgery and Gynaecology & Obstetric.
Prof MS Khuroo, was the Chief Guest at the function while Member Governing Body SKIMS and Director SKIMS, Dr A G Ahanger was the Guest of Honour.
Dr Arivind Kumar Senior Consultant Gangaram Hospital specialized in Leproscopic Oncosurgery in Gynae and General Surgery, operated upon some complicated case, which was telecasted live in the Auditorium.
Prof Muneer Khan, the pioneer of Leproscopic Surgery in the valley was awarded.
Prof GM Malik, the renowned Physician and Ex Professor Medical College Srinagar, Senior Surgical and Gynae faculty of SKIMS Soura, Govt Medical College and associated hospitals Srinagar, faculty, residents and students of SKIMS Medical College Bemina, Surgical and Gynae faculty from Directorate of Health Services Kashmir were present.
By starting Advanced Leproscpic Surgery at SKIMS Medical College, this Institution has now joined other Premier Institution like SKIMS Soura and GMC Srinagar by providing such quality high end Medical Care.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Khuroo thanked Director SKIMS Prof Ahangar for lending full support to SKIMS Medical College, and complimented the efforts of Principal SKIMS Medical College Bemina Prof Reyaz Untoo for addressing the issue of faculty deficiency by getting the long pending interviews of entry level position of faculty conducted in very nice way despite extremely difficult conditions and hoped the College growth with a full time Principal from within the faculty.
Dir SKIMS while speaking on the occasion ensured full support to the College for its growth and development and highlighted Prof Khuroos contribution in the field of Medicine.
The Principal SKIMS Medical College Bemina Prof Reyaz Untoo while speaking on the occasion thanked the Chairperson SKIMS Governing Body, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti for taking keen interest and providing necessary support required to ensure that SKIMS Medical College grows as an Independent Unit in a phased manner.
