Govt employee assaults elderly, police file case

Baramulla:  Police have registered a case against an assailant who made an alleged bid on the life of an elderly person in Tangmarg area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The assailant who happens to be the employee of Government Health Department according to police assaulted an elderly man Jalaluddin Magray, a resident of Tangmarg. “The assailant after de-boarding from his private Swift vehicle (JK01A-8666) manhandled the elderly person, who was saved by the passersby. After assaulting the elderly man, the assailant fled from the spot and has now been evading arrest.”

 “I fail to understand why the assailant has not been arrested yet, given the fact police have obtained the registration number of his private vehicle. I am eager to know why he assaulted me,” said the victim.

Station House Officer Police Station Tangmarg, Javaid Ahmed said that an FIR vide number 27/2017 under section 323, 341 stands registered against the accused and investigation has been set into motion. (CNS)
