SRINAGAR: Barkat Ali hit a steady half century as Karipora Sixers beat NarasPora XI by five wickets in Shaheed Aga Mehdi Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament played at Sports Stadium Budgam on Monday.
Chasing a competitive target of 137, Karipora Sixers managed to scale down it in the 18th over losing just five wickets. Barkat was the protagonist of the successful chase hitting a 50 consuming just 40 balls.
Earlier Naraspora elcted to bat first but didnt manage to make a big total. They could only score 136 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Barkat was given the man of the match award.
The other games slated for Monday were abandoned due to heavy rain and wet outfield.
The tournament-an annual affair- is being organised by Al-Mehdi Foundation, Budgam.
