DYSS holds annual long distance race

SRINAGAR: Department of Youth Services and Sports Anantnag Saturday organised District level Inter zonal Annual Long Distance Road Race for boys in the U-14, 17 and 19 age-groups.

According to a statement issued by the department, as many as 150 students from 12 zones of district Anantnag took part in the event.

The race was flagged off by the District Youth Services and Sports Officer Anantnag from Car Plaza KP Road Anantnag, with the main gate of Sports Stadium Tikbagh Mattan Anantnag being the finishing line.

For girls, the race will be held tomorrow in all the age-groups.  .

The first 10 Position holders from both boys and girls’ races will be felicitated today after the girls’ race ends.

“25 Sports Kits to the needy schools and actively participating in sports activities of Zone Mattan and Ashmuqam will be distributed by the chief guest at the presentation ceremony,” read the statement.
