SRINAGAR: Basit Ahmad scored 59 off 51 as ICS Yellows beat ICS Greens by six wickets in the first semis to make it to the finals of Islamia College of Science and Commerce Inter-group Cricket Tournament played at the college ground on Wednesday.
Basit innings was instrumental in helping Yellows to scale down a target of 193 in the last over. Musadiq contributed a handy 10-ball 24 to power his side into the summit clash. For Greens Samiullah and Kamran Junaid took a wicket each.
Earlier put into the bat, Greens did well to reach 192 for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 25 overs. Yamin was the highest scorer for the Greens making 53 off 40 balls. Samiullah slammed a 18-ball 27. Athar and Raqib took a brace of wickets each for Yellows.
The second semifinal of the tournament will be played between ICS Oranges and ICS Whites today at the same venue. The tournament is being organised by the department of Physical Education Islamia College.
