SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Football Association-custodians of the sport in the state-Saturday organised a friendly match to celebrate Asian Football Confederation May Day at Synthetic turf Football Stadium, TRC Srinagar.
According to a statement from the association, two teams were carved out of 200 differently-abled teenagers from a school for special children in Solina. The game was followed by a match between veterans with a decent crowd in attendance.
The statement added that the event was witnessed by secretary Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council Waheed-Ur-Rehman Parra. Besides international footballers from Kashmir, the games were witnessed by former footballers and various members of soccer community.
The celebration will run for a week with the JKFA intending to organise football events at various levels.
