Srinagar Dirtier Than Anantnag: Survey

Srinagar: Anantnag  city is more cleaner than Srinagar, revealed the ‘Swachh Survekshan-2017’, survey announced by the union government on Thursday.

The survey results which were announced by Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu puts Anantnag ahead of Srinagar in cleanliness at 197th rank with overall score of 1003.The Srinagar is placed at Rank 241 with overall score of 909.

The Leh city is ahead of both srinagar and Anantnag. It is placed at rank 100 with overall score of 1237.

The survey puts Indore in Madhya Pradesh as India’s cleanest city, while Gonda in Uttar Pradesh as the dirtiest.

The survey seeks various inputs from the citizens to create a ranking of the cities and towns. The five main parameters are waste collection, sweeping and transportation, MSW-processing and disposal, ODF / toilets, information, education and behaviour change and capacity building-SBM e-Learning portal
