Srinagar: Over 500 people attended a mega health camp organised by Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura, at Hazratbal in the sprawling lawns of the shrine on Friday.
Director SKIMS, Prof (Dr) A G Ahanger had constituted a team of six doctors namely Dr Farooq Jan, Dr Haroon Rashid, Dr Abdul Hamid Rather, Dr Aqeel, Dr Raees, Dr Junaid to hold the camp.
President Non Gazetted Employees Welfare Association (NGEWA), SKIMS, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Baig who also heads a memorial trust in his fathers name, supervised the event.
The camp began at 9.00 in the morning and continued till 10.00 PM. Dr Ahanger who had gone to attend a meeting convened by the Medical Council of India (MCI), visited the camp immediately after his return from New Delhi.
Around 500 people visited the camp and were diagnosed for various ailments and provided free medicines.
Various health issues diagnosed at the camp were referred to the SKIMS for detailed examination and treatment.
