Srinagar: Class work in two Higher Secondary Schools in Srinagar was suspended again on Saturday in view of the student protests in this summer capital during the last about two weeks.
Officials had announced last night that the class work in SP Higher Secondary School and MP Higher Secondary School will remain suspended as a precautionary measure.
They said that other higher secondary institutions, besides colleges were open in the Valley though security forces were deployed in strength outside these institutions to prevent any protests.
However, majority of the higher secondary schools and colleges in the valley, particularly in Srinagar, witnessed an abysmally low student attendance.
Social media sites were blocked and mobile internet suspended on April 17, two day after security forces thrashed students, including girls, in Degree College Pulwama. The incident triggered massive protests by students across the valley, demanding action against the security forces.
