Civilian Killed In Khanyar Grenade Attack

Srinagar: Suspected militants on Sunday evening lobbed a grenade at Khanyar police station in Srinagar. At least one civilian passerby was killed and three others, all police personnel, were injured.

“Three policemen and a civilian suffered injuries in the explosion which occurred near the office of superintendent of police, North City, at Khanyar,” a senior police officer said, adding, “all injured have been taken to the SHMS hospital for treatment”.

The civilian, identified as Ghulam Mohammad Khan, a resident of Elahibagh later succumbed at the hospital, sources said.
