Srinagar: Two militants were killed in a brief encounter that raged between forces and militants in Hayatpora village of Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday.
Defence spokesman, Colonial Rajesh Kalia said that two militants were killed in an encounter that raged in Budgam district today.
He said that the operation is still on.
Sources said that two militants were trapped inside the village which was cordoned off by the forces during which the militants fired some gunshots, triggering gunfight in the village.
They said that the militants who were killed in the village belong to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
However, there was no official confirmation regarding the identification and the affiliation of the militants when the report was last filed.
