Court Quashes Detention Of TeH Leader

Srinagar: A Court on Friday quashed the detention of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat District President Bandipora, Rayess Ahmad Mir under Public Safety Act and directed police to release him.

According to Advocate Bashir Ahmad Tak, Police had arrested District Bandipora, Rayess Ahmad Mir, son of Muhammad Maqbool Mir, resident of Kehnusu area of Bandipora district, on allegations of provoking youth to stone pelting and involvement in anti-nation activities.

He was booked by Bandipora Police on Sep 2, 2016 under an FIR vide number 126/2016. Detention order under number DMB/PSA of 2016 was passed on 07-09-2016.

Meanwhile, Advocate Bashir Ahmed Tak who was pleading the case of Rayees said that Justice Ali Muhammad Magrey quashed his detention under PSA today and directed police to release him.
