Srinagar: As student protests spread across Kashmir Monday the Jammu and Kashmir government ordered the closure of all the universities, colleges and higher secondary schools in Kashmir tomorrow (Tuesday.
An order issued by the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir said that all the universities, Higher Secondary Schools and colleges shall remain closed today “as a precautionary measure”.
All Kashmir University examinations scheduled to be held on April 18, 2017 (Tuesday) are postponed. Fresh dates for the deferred examinations shall be notified separately, later,” said a spokesman.
Massive student protests broke out on Monday across Kashmir in protest against government forces raid on Degree College Pulwama in South Kashmir on Saturday.
Students also clashed with police and paramilitary forces in Srinagar and other major towns.
