Polling Agents Missing

Budgam: Polling agents of candidates contesting Srinagar Parliamentary constituency by-poll, were missing in almost all 38 polling stations, where re-poll was ordered.

 However, poll staff was present in these polling stations though they had little or no work to do through the day.

Former Chief Minister and NC president Dr Abdullah and ruling Peoples Democratic Party nominee Nazir Ahmad Khan were among nine candidates seeking mandate from the constituency.

This time unprecedented security arrangements had been made by the authorities this time to ensure violence free repolling.

The District Magistrate (DM) Badgam had imposed restrictions under Section 144 CrPC in the entire district, barring in areas where repoll will be held.
