Srinagar: Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) has postponed all the examinations scheduled to be held today while the Kashmir University (KU) has deferred all tests till April
Though no reason was given for postponing the examinations, the step has been taken for security reasons following strike called by separatists against the civilian killings in security force and police action yesterday when violence erupted during polling in Srinagar Parliamentary constituency.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) of KU said all scheduled examinations of the university have been postponed till April 12.
Fresh dates for the deferred examinations shall be notified separately later, he said.
He said the examinations in Cold Zone (Ladakh, Kargil, Nobra, Zanskar and Gurez) have been postponed up to April 16 in view of inclement weather conditions there.
Fresh dates for these examinations shall also be notified separately, he added.
Meanwhile, an official of the IUST said all examinations scheduled to be held today have been postponed.
