Driver Killed During Protests

Srinagar: A minibus driver died on the spot Monday evening after his TATA-407 vehicle met with an accident near on Bypass Srinagar.

A police spokesman said Ali Mohammed Dagga (55), resident of Barthana Qamarwari was driving from Bemina towards Hyderpora when he came under stone attack by some ‘miscreants’ near a school on Bypass. 
 
 
Stones hit the driver who lost control of the vehicle and collided with an electric pole on the bypass divider. 
 
He was evacuated to the nearby hospital were doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, police said.
 
Police said it has taken cognisance of this incident and has registered case under FIR No. 45/2017 U/s 302 RPC at Police Station Batamaloo.
