J&K Wins Gold Medal in Dragon Boat Championship

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Dragon Boat women team Wednesday claimed the  gold medal in the 500 meters event in the 8th Dragon Boat National Championship in Assam.

According to a statement issued by the state’s Dragon boat association, thirty two member men and women teams of Dragon boat from Jammu and Kashmir is in Assam are currently participating in the National Championship.

J&K men and Women teams have qualified for the finals of two more events and there is possibility that the team may win two more medals for J&K.

The Championship has been organised by Dragon Boat Federation of India and Assam Dragon Boat Association. President J&K Dragon Boat Association MS Panu has congratulated the team for the outstanding performance at the National Level.

 Panu said that despite limited resources and lack of equipment, J&K team has brought laurels for the State. He expressed hope that J&K team would win two more medals in the championship.
