Touseef Raina takes over as Director ANN


SRINAGAR;- The young activist and journalist, Touseef Raina, has taken over as the Director of the Asia News Network (ANN). This was announced by ANN founder Tariq Bhat today. ANN Kashmir’s first app-based television channel, meant exclusively for mobile phones.


The mobile TV telecasts programming in Kashmiri English, Hindi and Urdu, from its station in Srinagar. It shows a variety of multi-lingual programmes, including songs, news, current affairs and entertainment programs.


`This platform will democratize the world of information for Kashmiri youth. They can access the whole world in their own idiom, language and style on their own phones, wherever they are and whenever they want,’ Raina said.


He said he was looking forward to the opportunity to bring young people from different parrts of Kashmir together through a platform that would provide enjoyment as well as knowledge of the world. `It will open up the world for our young people.


He also said he was very pleased to lead the dynamic young team of ANN, which has great potential.


The app is available on Google Play Store and has been downloaded more than 80,000 times.
