Senior Congress leader and former minister, Taj Mohi-ud-din told KNS that the workers from various governemnt departments including Anganwadi workers, PHE workers, Forest workers and others attended the election rallies, which was addressed by the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti.

“The Congress party leaders approached ECI today in this regard along with the proof (CD) in which the department workers were present in the rally,” he said.

He said that he also called Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) in this regard.

Senior Congress leader said that the separatist leadership are calling for boycotting elections from past several years but the incumbent regime is giving unnecessary hype to their call.

“I want to tell that if such things will continue then how the elections will be held,” he questioned.

He said that earlier they also approached the ECI where the authorities assured them that MCC violations won’t be tolerated. “The ECI also assured us that every complaint will be looked seriously and action will be taken against the norm violators,” Taj informed KNS.

Meanwhile, Taj said that they won’t allow any kind of fix in the by-polls, slated to be held on April 09 and 12. “We will use our right to the hilt,” he added. (KNS)
