Srinagar: In order to ensure better sanitation in the area, Srinagar Municipal Corporation Wednesday lifted garbage containers and cleaned the roads in Hyderpora area of Srinagar city, a move that was hailed by the local population.

A Srinagar Municipal Corporation official told CNS that people had been complaining that the large garbage containers not only attract the attention of dogs in the area, but were the source of foul smell as well. Taking note of these complaints, our employees not only cleaned the surroundings but also lifted these heavy garbage containers to secluded places.

The locals of Hyderpora while appreciating the work of the SMC employees hoped that the Corporation will extend this operation to other parts of city as well. (CNS)
