JK To Establish District Level Setup For Women’s Development Corporation: Govt

JAMMU:  Minister for Social Welfare Sajjad Gani Lone on Monday said the government is contemplating to have District Level setup for Jammu and Kashmir Women’s Development Corporation (JKWDC) to increase the outreach of the organization.

Lone said this while chairing 21st and 22nd Annual General Meetings of JKWDC.

Commissioner/Secretary Finance Navin Kumar Choudhary, Managing Director JKWDC Dr Naheed Soz, sharehhlders of the Corporation besides other senior officials of the Corporation, Social Welfare Department and Finance Department were present.

The Minister, who is also the chairman of the corporation, congratulated the management and staff of the corporation for completing the accounts of the Corporation. The meeting was convened to adopt the accounts of the year 2011-12 and 2012-13. The Commissioner/Secretary Finance on the occasion said the losses to the tune of Rs. 4.78 crore of the corporation have been recouped with the best efforts of the management.

Managing Director JKWDC, Dr Naheed Soz informed the meeting that the recovery of loans has reached up to 90%. She thanked the shareholders for having trust in the management and appreciated their role in strengthening the corporation.

Giving details about the financial health of the Corporation it was brought to the notice of the house that the accounts for the year 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 will be placed before the shareholders very soon.
