SRINAGAR: A moderate earthquake measuring 4.8 magnitude on Richter Scale hit parts of Kashmir valley this morning, forcing people to rush out of their homes in panic.
The tremors which were felt at 0814 hrs in parts of North-western Jammu and Kashmir lasted in few seconds.
A Met department spokesman told UNI that quake was also felt summer capital, Srinagar and its adjoining areas. We have also recorded tremors, he said adding its epicentre and other details are awaited.
However, there was no report of any loss of life or damage to property so far, he said.
