Nocturnal Raids, Harassment Of Residents Undemocratic: Hurriyat (M)

Srinagar: Condemning the arrest of dozens of persons during night raids in Ratnipora area of Pulwama district, a spokesman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Saturday said arrests of youth by the government forces in every nook and corner of Kashmir valley, night raids and harassment of residents was not only undemocratic, but was also meant to force the freedom-loving people of Kashmir to give up their struggle for right to self-determination by using force and aggression.

Expressing deep concern over the death of a youth Muhammad Ayoub Wani, son of Muhammad Ahsan Wani in the grenade attack at Muran Chowk, Pulwama, the spokesman said the unresolved Kashmir issue was resulting in the loss of precious human lives in the Valley every other day besides creating an atmosphere of insecurity and uncertainty.

Calling for a need to resolve the Kashmir issue as per the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris, the spokesman said the resolution of this vexed issue was necessary to create sense of security and an environment of peace and prosperity in Indo-Pak subcontinent and the entire South Asia.

The spokesman said Kashmir was a long-pending dispute as a result of which clouds of insecurity and confrontation were hovering over the skies of South Asia for the past several decades resulting in loss of precious human lives and properties.

The spokesman said it was the moral responsibility of the international community to help resolve this vexed issue and end the environment of uncertainty from the region by playing their role in resolving Kashmir issue.
