JAMMU: An Indian Army soldier on Friday was booked by the Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir Police for allegedly blackmailing a girl after outraging her modesty in Ramban district of the State.

Gulab Singh Parihar, posted in Kupwara district, allegedly outraged the modesty of the girl and obtained her photographs.

He then prepared an offensive video and started sending threatening text messages to her through different mobile phones, a senior officer of J&K Crime Branch said here on Friday.

Parihar allegedly demanded her photographs along with money amounting to Rs 5 lakh, failing which he threatened to upload her nude pictures online. He also allegedly demanded from her photographs and videos of other girls from Ramban area for blackmailing them as well, the officer said.
